All hail “The King” — of bagels, that is.
Timothée Chalamet showed his fans some real New York hospitality at the premiere of the Netflix film, in which he will play Henry V — bowl cut and all.
The “Call Me By Your Name” star brought a bag of bagels to the New York premiere of the movie. And they were the good kind, too, a fan noted.
The noble gesture from the New York native and bagel aficionado came at the behest of Twitter fan @elioschalamets, who boldly requested that Chalamet bring bagels to the premiere.
Chalamet initially replied with “lol imagine,” according to W Magazine, but deleted the response shortly after. The sentiment was gone but not forgotten, though. When he showed up to the screening at the School of Visual Arts on Monday, he arrived with a classic white paper bag in hand, to the delight of his fans — some of whom waited 12 hours to see him.
The streaming service’s production, which will debut Nov. 1, is a mashup of the William Shakespeare plays “Henry IV, Part 1,” “Henry IV, Part 2” and “Henry V.” Its all-star cast includes Chalamet as Hal (the prince who becomes King Henry V), Robert Pattinson as the Dauphin of France (Henry V’s royal rival), Lily-Rose Depp as Catherine of Valois (Henry V’s queen consort and the mother of his heir, Henry VI) and Ben Mendelsohn as Henry IV (his father).
